Till now, it was expected that the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro which were revealed last month would make their way to India on July 15. But now, it looks like the company has (kinda…) confirmed the release date for the Redmi K20 Series in India. In a recent tweet from Xiaomi India’s Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain, it was confirmed that the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro will be released on July 17 in India.

Well, you might have noticed that I said “kinda”, right? That was for a reason. Manu Kumar Jain didn’t specifically mentioned July 17 in the tweet. Instead, he wrote “4 weeks to go” which makes anyone speculate 4 weeks from now – which in simple words means July 17.

Redmi K20 and K20 Pro share a similar design language. Both the devices are almost alike, with the major differences being that the K20 comes with Snapdragon 730 chipset and supports only 18W fast charging. On the other hand, the Redmi K20 Pro comes with Snapdragon 855 SoC at its heart and has a support for up to 27W fast charging. Also, there’s one minor difference as well. The Redmi K20 Pro comes with laser focus while the normal K20 doesn’t.

Xiaomi has already launched the Redmi K20 in Europe as the Mi 9T but is yet to launch the Redmi K20 pro as the Mi 9T Pro in that market. Anyways, it has already been confirmed that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro with the same name in India.
