Recently, we’ve seen several rumours about the Huawei Nova 5 series. Today is the day when those rumours get confirmed or discarded. Yes, today Huawei launched Nova 5 Pro, Nova 5 and Nova 5i at a launch event in China.
Huawei Nova 5 Pro
Huawei Nova 5 Pro is the top of the line device from the Nova Series. It comes with a 6.39-inch FHD+ OLED panel. Also, it has the under-display fingerprint sensor and is offered in some bright and vibrant colour options. There is a small waterdrop notch on the front to house the 32MP selfie camera.
There is a quad rear camera setup – The primary being the 48MP, paired with 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens.
At its heart, the device has the flagship Kirin 980 processor which is paired with 8GB of RAM. There are two storage options available for the device – 128GB and 256GB. And to power this beefy hardware, there is a 4,000 mAh battery with the support for 40W Huawei SuperCharge. One can buy this device at CNY 2,999 for 8GB/128GB variant or at CNY 3,399 for the 8GB/256GB variant.
Pre-orders have already begun at Vmall.com but note that it’ll start shipping on June 28.
Huawei Nova 5
We already saw rumours of this device coming with the new Kirin 810 chipset, and guess what – They turned out to be true. The Nova 5 is essentially Nova 5 Pro with a slightly weaker chipset, Kirin 810 at its heart.
Also, note that there is only one variant available for this device – the 8GB/128GB variant which will cost you CNY 2,799. But one important thing to be noted here is that the device would go on sale around mid-July as the newer chipset is still in production.
Huawei Nova 5i
Huawei Nova 5i is essentially a mid-range device with the older Kirin 710 chipset. But it is the only device in the Nova 5 Series which has a punch-hole display. The battery capacity remains the same at 4,000 mAh but supports only 18W fast-charging instead of the 40W Huawei SuperCharge.
The fingerprint sensor is also shifted to the back and the quad rear camera setup gets downgraded. There is a 24MP primary sensor with 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, and the same 2MP depth and macro lens. It has two variants – 6GB/128GB which is priced at CNY 1,999 and 8GB/128GB which is priced at CNY 2,199.
The future of Huawei devices is unclear, as of now. But these devices seem to offer a great value for money – just like they previously did.
