Vivo has been releasing some pretty good devices lately. To continue doing that, they’ll be launching a new device – the Vivo V17 on December 9 in India.
Media Invites have been sent out which says, “SAVE THE DATE” and shows the top outline of the device. The invite also shows a hashtag “ClearAsReal” which indicates that it might focus a lot more on the camera. The device which will be launched at the event is the Vivo V17. But it’s not the one which was launched recently in Russia. That can be said as the invite shows there will be punch-hole display on this device – which the Vivo V17 which was launched in Russia didn’t have.
So, instead of it being a global version of the V17, it’s more like a global version of the Vivo S5. The Vivo S5 had a punch-hole display and looked quite similar to the Vivo V17. There are some differences between the two, but the design looks almost the same.
Whether it’ll have similar specs to the recently launched Vivo V17 or not still remains to be seen. Also, it’ll be interesting to see what Vivo prices this device at as the V17 had a Snapdragon 665 at its heart. In Russia, it is priced close to ₹25,000 but launching it at such price in India wouldn’t make sense – in my opinion. But I won’t judge it as it’s still not launched in India. As soon as it launches in India, I’ll make sure to cover it.
