In the past few days, we have seen several leaks and rumours about the Vivo V17 being launched in India. Even though the Vivo V17 was already launched in India, the one which was coming to India looked different than the one which was already launched. And well, they were right. That can be said as the Vivo V17 has been officially launched in India.

At its heart, the Vivo V17 is powered by the Snapdragon 675 in India. This is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage. Note that you can expand this storage by 256GB if you want to. Also, it has a massive 4,500 mAh battery with the support for 18W fast charging. And yes, this charges via a USB Type-C cable – one cable for everything!

The USP of this device is the camera and well, it has four of them on the back and one on the front. The selfie camera here is a 32MP f/2.0 which resides in the punch-hole display. On the back, those four cameras are arranged in L-shape which looks alright. There is a 48MP Primary camera paired along with 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. I would have loved to see a telephoto sensor here instead of that depth sensor though.

That display on the front is a 6.44-inch FHD+ OLED display which seems to be plenty sharp. Even the punch-hole seems to be extremely small with minimal bezels on all the sides of the device – which is pretty much acceptable. The device also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom which so many people would appreciate. It’ll come with FunTouch OS 9.2 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box even though it has been months since the Android 10 was released.

The Vivo V17 has been priced at ₹22,900 in India – which is quite a bit high for the specifications it offers. I would’ve at least expected to see the Snapdragon 730G – if not the Snapdragon 765G – at this price. You can currently pre-book the device in either Glacier Ice White or Midnight Black colour variant on their site.
