Vivo has launched some great devices under the iQOO branding in China. And recently, it officially announced that it will be expanding the Vivo iQOO brand to India. However, it won’t be coming as a sub-brand of Vivo. It’ll be working as a separate entity – just like Realme which separated from Oppo or Poco which is now a separate entity in India. Along with the news of expansion of its business in India, it has also announced that they will be launching two devices in India next month.

It was confirmed in an interview with The Mobile Indian that two devices will be revealed by the second week of February. Both the devices are expected to have similar design as well as specifications with the only difference being 5G.

The Marketing Director of iQOO India also revealed that both devices will be similar in terms of features. However, the 5G version will be powered by Snapdragon 865 – which might make it one of the first devices to launch with that chip in India – if not the first.

As of now, there is no word on what chip will be used on the 4G version of the device. We expect it to have the same Snapdragon 865 chipset at its heart – just without the X55 5G Modem. However, it may even end up having Snapdragon 720G which was just recently announced.

Gagan Arora also went ahead to claim that the device will feature an industry-first new battery technology. It’ll be interesting to see what this battery technology turns out to be. Recently, a patent about “vivo Super FlashCharge” also appeared online. This might bring their 55W charging technology in India. Maybe, that new battery technology is just this or probably, it’s more than that. We’ll get to know about that soon.

I’ll try my best to cover it once it launches in India. Till then, we’ll see the leaks which might be coming in the next few weeks.
