I haven’t posted a Tech Today article since quite some time now. That’s because I’ve been a bit busier lately. But I think I’ll be able to do this more in the upcoming days and probably, even post some single articles covering a single issue. Now that I’ve talked about the updates for this site going forward, let’s just get into the Tech Today article for the day. Today, we’ll discuss about the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, Realme X50 5G and the Google Nest Mini.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 with 108MP camera will be launching soon in India

Xiaomi recently launched its first smartphone with 108MP camera in China – Mi CC9 Pro. Soon after that, they announced the global version of the Mi CC9 Pro in Europe – Mi Note 10. The pricing did change a bit but that can be due to the taxes and various other factors which we don’t need to get into. Now, Xiaomi has teased that the Mi Note 10 with 108MP camera will be launching soon in India.

Xiaomi India tweeted “IT’S COMING #108MP” which means that the Mi Note 10 is headed towards India. It’s still unclear whether the device will be launched as Mi Note 10 or the Mi CC9 Pro in India. I would expect it to be launched as the Mi A3 Pro in India as the Mi CC9 came as the Mi A3. If it comes under the A Series line-up, it would be pretty great as that hardware would be paired with the amazing Stock Android experience.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G at its heart along with 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage – with an option to expand it using microSD card slot. On the front, it has a 6.47-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. This notch houses the 32MP selfie camera.

On the rear side, it has a penta-camera setup which includes a 108MP f/1.69 primary camera. This is paired along with a 12MP 2x Telephoto Camera for taking better portraits, a 5MP 5x Telephoto Camera, a 20MP ultrawide and a 2MP dedicated macro shooter. All this is paired along with Quad-LED dual-tone flashlight.

All this heavy hardware is powered by a massive 5,260 mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It’ll be running on Android 10 out of the box.

Realme X50 5G will be the first 5G smartphone by Realme

Realme had recently introduced its first flagship – Realme X2 Pro. It came with almost all the features that a flagship has – if not more – including the Snapdragon 855+ chipset and 90Hz display. But well, it looks like Realme isn’t settling with that product. It looks like Realme will introduce the Realme X50 5G soon as the CMO of the company already posted a teaser on Weibo.

The post on Weibo by Xu Qi Chase shows the outline of the device. Also, two cameras can be spotted on the top-left corner which appears to be have the punch hole in display to house those cameras. So, this will be Realme’s first device to come with a punch hole display along with it being the company’s first 5G-enabled device.

Xi Qu Chase knew that people might get confused with the name because it’s a major jump – from 2 to 50. So, he has also explained the logic for the same. X stands for the X line-up which features new technology that Realme is implementing. 5 represents the incoming 5G generation of smartphones and 0 is for new beginnings.

It is already revealed that the Realme X50 5G will work both on standalone and non-standalone 5G networks. This means there will be easier transition and broader coverage of the next-generation connectivity. No more details have been revealed about the device yet – not even a launch date.

Google Nest Mini finally launched in India for ₹4,499

Google launched the Google Nest Mini last month as an upgrade to the Google Home Mini which was launched before two years. But well, it wasn’t available in India till now. Today, the Google Nest Mini has been finally launched in India for ₹4,499.

The Google Nest Mini comes equipped than 3 microphones instead of 2 on its predecessor which means it’ll be able to hear you in a better way. It also comes with a wall mount and Google has also claimed that the speaker has been tuned to produce much fuller sound with 2x bass. Just like any other Google product, this has built-in machine learning that lets the device adapt based on usage.

You can also use this device as an intercom and a conferencing speaker as the users can call the device directly using Google Duo. This new smart speaker from Google is much eco-friendlier than earlier as the top is made using plastic bottles and the body is made of 35% recycled plastic.

In India, it is launched with two colour options to choose from – Chalk and Charcoal. It supports all major music streaming services in India – YouTube Music, Spotify, Gaana, JioSaavn and Wynk Music. Even though its launch price is the same as the Google Home Mini – ₹4,499, the Google Home Mini currently sells for ₹2,999. The Home Mini’s price has sometimes even dropped under ₹2,000 during the major sales. So, that can also be expected in the future. But, current price drop in Google Home Mini is just because they’ll have to clear those stocks of the older speaker to make way for the newer ones.
