Yeah, I know I haven’t posted an article of Tech Today during the last few days, but that’s due to some personal issues. And while I want to post an article every single day, I know I won’t be able to do so in the next week. Hence, no commitments right now but I’ll try to post on as many days as I can. Well, having said that, I might just try to cover the Apple Launch Event live here on an article. But before we do that, let’s just go through what happened in Tech Industry today. So, on this article of Tech Today, I’ll be covering things about Vivo V17 Pro, Apple’s new iPhones, Oppo Reno Ace and more. Now, without wasting any more time, let’s just dive into these news stories.

Vivo V17 Pro launching on September 20

Vivo had recently launched the Vivo Z1x in India. And it is now confirmed that there will be another device launching on September 20. The device in the talks is the Vivo V17 Pro. Well, not much has been revealed about the device itself except that it’ll be the first 32MP dual pop-up selfie camera module in any smartphone. It’s unclear what the second sensor would be. But I hope that it’s an ultra-wide camera as that would be much more useful than a depth sensor.

But no smartphone is launched without the leaks appearing online. And it has been the same for Vivo V17 Pro. There have been some leaks making its way to the Internet which shows that the device will be powered by Snapdragon 675 at its heart. That will be paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage. On the front, there won’t be any distractions as the device will have a beautiful 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display. That enabled Vivo to include an in-display fingerprint sensor, and that’s exactly what they did. On the other side of the device, there will be a quad camera setup which would include a 48MP Primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

All these things inside the Vivo V17 Pro will suck the power from a 4,100 mAh battery, which will indeed suck power through that USB Type-C Port when it’ll be on charge. Nothing is known about the pricing and availability yet. But the launch on September 20 should make everything clear for us.

Apple’s new iPhones prices leaked before launch

Apple has planned to launch three iPhones later today. But I wonder what will be exciting about the launch event as almost everything is now known. The pricing would’ve been one thing, but it has now been leaked as well. Yes, you heard it right. Right before the launch event, the pricing of all the variants of the upcoming iPhones have been leaked.

The iPhone 11 will start at $749, which means it’ll be the device replacing iPhone XR. The iPhone 11 Pro will start at $999 while the iPhone 11 Pro Max (Damn, who named this device? And why?) will start at $1,099. Higher storage variants will cost more and here’s an image to show what they’ll be priced like.

The leaked slide also sowed the Apple Watch S5, AirPower (Wait, what!?) as well as AirPods. But the slides don’t include any more information on them. So, don’t get your hopes high as they might just address the AirPower and not launch it. If you want to watch the live event, you can easily stream it on YouTube here. And if you don’t want to be stuck watching for 2 hours and waste your precious data, then you can just read the article which will be posted here.

Oppo Reno Ace with 90Hz display launching in October

Oppo just recently launched the Oppo Reno2 series of smartphones. But it looks like it doesn’t end there. At the launch event of Oppo Reno2 in China, Brian Shen – Oppo’s VP, revealed that a new Reno device will be launched in October. No specific date has been revealed for the launch of the upcoming device – Oppo Reno Ace.

It’s important to note that not much details have been revealed about the Oppo Reno Ace. But a few features – 90Hz display, 4000 mAh battery and SuperVOOC charging – have been teased in the past. Also, it was said that these are some of the features which will be included in their upcoming smartphone and it looks like Oppo Reno Ace could be that smartphone. Whether these features will be a part of Oppo Reno Ace or not will be known in the future through the leaks, rumours and everything will be confirmed at its launch event.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 launching on September 17 in India

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 was released in China earlier this year. Finally, Xiaomi is bringing that to India on September 17 at a launch event in New Delhi. At the same launch event, Xiaomi will announce its new range of Mi TVs which will also include a 65-inch Mi TV.

The Mi Band devices have been extremely popular in India and it was about time they launch the newest version here. The Mi Band 4 flaunts a 0.95-inch color AMOLED display with a resolution of 120×240 pixels. That won’t sound like much but that’s pretty good for a Smart Band. Also, it’ll come with a new six-axis accelerometer and will be water-resistant up to 50 meters. Other than this, the Mi Band 4 will also have a built-in microphone and NFC support. But it’s unclear whether India will be getting the NFC version or not.

Anyways, the launch is close, and everything will be clear on September 17. I’m expecting the Mi Band 4 to launch under ₹2,000 price tag – even ₹1,999 will do. Once it launches here, I’ll try my best to get my hands-on the device and review it for everyone.

Xiaomi announced 30W wireless charging

A few years back, we all were excited to see the ultra-fast charging method on OnePlus devices. That charging method provided 20W Wired Charging. Since then, we have seen several developments which improved the Wired Charging speeds. Even recently, we saw that Vivo was working on 120W Super Flash Charge technology, but that hasn’t made its way to consumer devices. And as of now, I’m pretty sure there might be several hurdles which a company needs to overcome in order to implement these new technologies to consumer devices. But well, we do have consumer devices with support of 50W Wired Charging, and that’s still great.

But all that development was seen on Wired Charging, and not on Wireless Charging. But well, Xiaomi has now announced a new 30W Wireless Charging – Mi Charge Turbo which can theoretically bring back 50% juice in just 25 minutes – and that’s awesome for wireless charging. Even today, there are devices which supports only up to 10W Wired Charging. So, when compared to them, this is pretty great. Also, the OnePlus’ latest and greatest flagship device has the support of up to 30W Wired Charging through the Warp Charger. And this can pretty much level up to that.

Mi Charge Turbo uses a 5-layer nanocrystal receiver coil which has conversion efficiency of 98 percent, and that should indeed help keep temperatures under control too. Well yes, all these are just claims made by the company and I haven’t tested it personally, but I would love to do so and give you all precise numbers. And that can only be done by getting the upcoming Mi 9 Pro 5G flagship device as that’s the one which will have the support for this technology. The good news is that the device will be launched in this month. The bad news is I would probably not be able to get it. But well, if I do, I’ll make sure to post an article on how it performed through my testing.

Xiaomi has also announced that it’s developing a 40W wireless charging standard which is already in the testing stage. And Xiaomi is also working on the 100W Wired Charger, but the launch for that technology is nowhere close. But the future surely seems to be interesting.

Well, that’s pretty much it for this article of Tech Today. In case you haven’t checked the previous article, you can check it right here.
