OnePlus has been doing good with the software support, especially since the launch of the OnePlus 3. OnePlus 3/3T is almost at the end of its life cycle for receiving software updates directly from the company. And now, OnePlus 5/5T will be joining them soon. It has been announced that OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T won’t receive any more Open Beta updates.

The latest and the last Open Beta update has been delivered to the OnePlus 5 and 5T users. After this, they will not receive any Open Beta update. But it is important to note that only those using their devices on Open Beta will be affected by this.

If you’re running on Open Beta, you’ll soon have to move back to the Stable Update Channel as the stable channel will continue to receive updates. Also, OnePlus even plans to deliver the Android Q update to the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. But just like last time, no ETA has been provided yet.

Here’s the changelog for the final Open Beta update of OnePlus 5 and 5T:

System

  • General bug fixes and stability improvements

Weather

  • Improved scrolling experience for switching between pages
  • Weather cards for multiple cities can now be rearranged or deleted by tapping and holding on them
  • Optimized user experience by allowing you to use this app while app permission to access GPS location is disabled

Phone

  • Improved animation effects when switching between pages
  • Improved experience with searching for contacts
  • Optimized Quick Responses for declined calls and supported editing Quick Responses

Zen Mode

  • Added Zen Mode helping you keep away from the screen and back to life for 20 minutes

If you’re already on the Open Beta Channel, you’ll receive this final update directly like every other update. If you’re not on Open Beta Channel and want to try it out, you shouldn’t as you’ll have to completely wipe the device before getting back to the Stable Channel. Also, as this is the last update, you’ll have to do that pretty soon.
