LG patent for punch hole display design is granted

LG’s current design of the smartphones seem to be outdated, as of today. But there’s a recent leak which shows that the design will be updated soon. There is a patent filed by LG which shows a device with a punch hole display on the front. LG has been granted this patent by the Turkish Patent Institute.

If this turns out to be true, we might see a better design on the front. The schematics in the application shows that the punch hole will be placed on the top left corner, just like the Honor View 20. The rear design looks just like the LG V40 ThinQ with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. This means no under-display fingerprint sensor for LG devices, yet.

It does look like that LG has requested this patent filings to remain private or maybe, this is just a fake patent which has made its way to the internet. Anyways, it’ll be interesting to see this new design on the upcoming LG devices, if it turns out to be true.
