Huawei has released some decent smartwatches in the past. One of the most recent ones which was unveiled by Huawei was the Huawei Watch GT2. This watch was unveiled in September alongside the Mate 30 Series. And now, it’s going to make its way to India. Yes, you read it right – Huawei Watch GT2 will be launching on December 5 in India.
That can now be confirmed as the a “Notify Me” button has been added on Huawei’s official Indian site. Once you click on that, you can either select Amaon.in or Flipkart. This further confirms that the Huawei Watch GT2 will be sold on both major e-commerce websites – Amazon.in and Flipkart.
At its heart, the Huawei Watch GT2 has Kirin A1 chipset. As of now, I haven’t tried any watches with that chipset. So, can’t comment about the performance yet. Once I try it, I’ll let you know how I feel about the chipset as well as the Watch. It’ll come in two sizes – 42mm and 46mm. The 42mm will only be available in Night Black variant while the 46mm will have three colour variants to choose from – Matte Black, Pebble Brown and Titanium Grey.
The 42mm variant sports a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 390×390 while the 46mm variant comes with a larger 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454×454. The smaller variant has a claimed battery life of up to 7 days while the larger one has claimed battery life of 14 days. If it reaches anywhere near those claims, it’ll be great.
If many of these things sound familiar to you, then that’s because Honor recently unveiled their Honor MagicWatch 2 which is similar to the Huawei Watch GT2. It’ll be interesting to see what will be price of the Huawei GT2 in India as that’ll be a major deciding factor in selecting a smartwatch.
