Asus is going to launch the Zenfone 6 in India on June 19. But as I reported earlier, due to the recent Delhi High Court ruling, Asus won’t be able to launch it with the Zenfone branding anymore in India. The Taiwanese company was then left with just two options. One was to postpone or cancel the launch of the Zenfone 6 in India. And the second option was to not use the Zenfone branding, here in India. It looks like they have selected the second option. So, Asus would be launching Zenfone 6 as Asus 6z in India on June 9.

Asus would be launching Zenfone 6 as Asus 6z in India on June 9

Asus Zenfone 6 was already listed on the e-commerce website, Flipkart. But the name of the device has changed from Asus Zenfone 6 to Asus 6z following the Delhi High Court ruling. The product page also reveals that the device would be launched into the Indian market on June 19.

On the other hand, it looks like Asus forgot to update their own site as their listing still says Zenfone 6 instead of Asus 6z. Maybe, they forgot to update their site or are hoping to win the next hearing on June 10. Anyways, it’s good news right now that they aren’t cancelling or postponing their launch of the device. Now, the only factor which would decide the sales of Asus 6z would be the pricing.
