Asus unveiled their first gaming smartphone – ROG Phone last year in June. It is expected that Asus might announce the ROG Phone 2 on June 23.
This new offering from Asus might be revealed at a launch event in Beijing, China. It is expected that the device would be coming in two variants, with the starting price tag of CNY 4,399. Also, Asus would promote the phone at ChinaJoy 2019 Expo in Shanghai to showcase the device to around 400,000 eSports players. This Expo will begin on August 1, which means Asus can have a great amount of exposure through this Expo.
Last year, the ROG Phone had a 90Hz display, but it’s expected that the ROG Phone 2 will carry a 120Hz display. It remains to be seen if the display technology used would be OLED or LCD. No other specifications are revealed or leaked yet, but it’s safe to expect that the Snapdragon 855 would be at the heart of the device along with up to 12GB RAM to make it a gaming phone. It might also have some cool cooling systems and accessories to go along with the device. And not to forget the glowing Asus logo to give it that Gaming gadget vibe.
As we head further towards the launch date, there would be more leaks which would be covered right here. So, stay tuned for that.
